It had been considered that one part of the flower patterns of the morning glory would appear by mutable genes. Recently, various techniques of molecular genetics have been developed and the base arrangement decoding technology of DNA has progressed and the molecular mechanism underlying the appearance of flower patterns has begun to be elucidated.
