Hamanenasikazura Cuscuta chinensis L.

Flower

Copyright 1998-2022 Yoshiaki Yoneda

Parasitic plant. Here, it is coiling itself around Lathyrus maritimus and Calystegia soldanella. There is an opinion that the Cuscuta group should be separated from Convolvulaceae and established as an independent family Cuscutaceae. The writer treats the tribe Cuscuteae as part of Convolvulaceae here. Photo taken 1987.5.30 at the mouth of the Abekawa river, Shizuoka city.
