Hamanenasikazura Cuscuta chinensis L.

Copyright 1998-2022 Yoshiaki Yoneda

Parasitic plant. Here, it is coiling itself around Vitex rotundifolia. There is an opinion that the Cuscuta group should be separated from Convolvulaceae and established as an independent family Cuscutaceae. The writer treats the tribe Cuscuteae as part of Convolvulaceae here. Photo taken 1984.9.6 near Hagoromo no Matu, in Shimizu city.
